Ring: A Unique Table Lamp DesignRecycled Materials and Symbolism Combine in this Innovative Creation
Our design emerged as a reaction to natural resources being depleted by the never-ending need of technology. The wooden parts of the design reflect nature and tradition, while the two twisted metal parts represent time. The metal cage, into which these metal parts merge, serves as a reminder of how technology can trap the world and humanity like a bird in a cage. However, the design also offers hope by incorporating a light inside this cage.
The use of recycled materials not only adds an eco-friendly aspect to the design but also serves as a commentary on the depletion of natural resources caused by the constant demand for technology. By repurposing these materials, the designers highlight the importance of sustainability and responsible consumption.

The Ring table lamp measures w 420mm x d 220mm x h 240mm, making it a compact and versatile lighting solution for various spaces. Its form and use of warm materials create a welcoming and natural ambiance, improving the work environment and providing a sense of tranquility.
This design project began in June 2014 in Istanbul and was completed in July of the same year. Throughout the process, the designers faced the challenge of catering to the ergonomic requirements of the user, ensuring that the lamp is not only visually appealing but also functional and comfortable to use.
The Ring table lamp has garnered recognition for its innovative design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Fine Arts and Art Installation Design category in 2015. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.
